The title above might be a little odd since writing a blog is still part of Social Media. I am talking about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr. I posted on Facebook that I am leaving social media and I hope to do it permanently but who knows what I will do. I deleted each of the apps I listed above from my phone.
Now why would I do such a thing. It's a huge distraction. I'm always like, I wonder who liked the pic I posted, I mean it's my kids so I know I will get a lot of likes. Then it's the continuous scrolling...

You all know what I mean. Next thing I know 10, 20, 60 minutes have passed and I haven't done jack squat.
We have lost the art of interacting with people, a good friend on mine replied to my last post: Amen
Brother. And I truly mean that. Social media has distanced all of us
from whats truly real in our lives. Real hand shakes, Real hugs, Real
conversation. Instead of ( LOL ) you actually here the person Laugh out
Load. Camp fires cant happen on facebook.
Cookouts cant happen on twitter. Eat the evidence feasts cant happen on
snapchat. And really How do we think as people that we are so damn
important that we have to tell the world everything we do everyday we do
it.
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the pics of my friends and such with their kids and it's a great way to keep in touch so I'm sure I will probably not get rid of it. I get a lot of my news and information from social media also.
I have dreams, I have always had dreams but that's about it, I never make them into goals. I really want to change that. I want to read more, I want travel more, I want to worship more, I want to fish more, I want to learn another language and I can't do these when I'm on social media.
So let's see where this journey leads me, I welcome all who care to follow.
